Indiana Jones news

Meet Indiana Jones and Alice Jones.  You may be surprised to know that Amara is actually Indiana (the greatest whip
fighter in the world, according to her) and that Ethan is Alice.  I certainly laughed when Amara proclaimed to me that Ethan's new name is Alice Jones, but Ethan regularly calls himself Alice, because Alice is the ideal name for an Allosaurus.   In Ethanland, the only acceptable name for an animal is the name of the animal followed by a vowel sound.  Example: A good duck name would be - Duck-O, Duck-E or Duck-IA.  So, the name Alice Jones implies some sort of tough, dinosaur-esque, whip sword and gun wielding superhero.

The interest in Indian Jones actually began with us playing Lego Indiana Jones on the X-Box. Its pretty fun and Amara's quite skilled at playing. Ethan will watch whoever's playing like its the best show ever made. Amara's even willing to beat up bad guys now. At first, when the scary music would come on and enemies approached, she'd practically throw the controller at me in fear. Its ok! The worst case scenario involves Lego Indiana breaking apart, then reassembling. She's all good now.

Fashion notes: Amara's whip is a shoelace.  Ethan's is a kitchen utensil.  He's also got a gun (toy drill) and a sword in his "pockets."  (Doesn't actually have pockets, they're stuck down his pants.  Guess we need to have a talk about sword sheaths because, what fool would shove a sharp sword in his pocket?)

I WAS suprised to learn that Ethan was the Alice in this little scenario, but once you explain his reasoning, it makes pefect sense! Love that you caught the picture with perfect whip action! Fun trips you guys!

We have a lot of Indiana Jones at our house too. It all started with the Legos. Buddy Boy wants Indiana Jones to come to his house to play with his Dad and their motorcylces. And yes, the strap wrench get used as a whip here as well.
