As I browsed my photos I realized that I never actually posted anything about our week long stay at my parents' place over the summer. And sadly, I really don't have much to post either. But, I have a few pictures, so here we go:

We took a trip to Marine World one day. (I believe its actually called Six Flags Discovery Kingdom now, but old habits die hard, right?) The kids went on many kid rides, and enjoyed most of them with two notable exceptions. There's one that's a very tame version of the "pirate ship" ride, that rocks you back and forth. It rocked a little, and spun us around a bit. Ethan clung to the bar and my hand with the most terrified look on his little face. Oh my - it was so sad. We did silly stuff to distract him, and by the end he was uttering a very half hearted "wee" with every swing. Fortunately it ended quickly and he recovered. The other notable ride was the roller coaster. It was a kiddie coaster, and the ride was probably about 15 seconds long. Amara was feeling adventurous, and agreed to go on it once with my dad. She SCREAMED the whole time. The great part? When it was over I teasingly told her that I wanted to go on it, too, but that I couldn't go without her. She surprised me and quickly agreed to go. I told her I'd been joking and she didn't need to go, but she wanted to. That time she screamed before we even got going. At least she's brave!

We had a very fun camp out one night in the backyard.
Mmm. Hot chocolate.
Ethan got on this kick of stuffing his mouth full of marshmallows/ eggs/ whatever and refusing to talk for lengthy periods.

The kids attacking grandpa. Does it look like they're winning?

And don't forget the S
piderman costume. Good times.
