"Our" Beach

Most nights after I get back from work we all walk down to the end of our street where we have a beach access. We really love the bit of sand nearest to us and we have begun to call it "our beach."

Amara is terrified of seaweed and for a while I thought Ethan would end up with the same fears based on her reaction. Luckily I convinced him to hold on to some seaweed and he never looked back. This bit of seaweed became his whip as he fought crime on the beach for the rest of the evening.

Amara, though more fearful of the surf than Ethan, still enjoys herself and expresses her boundless creativity on the sand.

Kristina took this picture as I was relaxing in the water and dreaming of bigger waves. Last week, when the picture was taken the waves were TINY. Great for the kids, no good for surfing. The rolling waves in the evening are really relaxing and allow me to decompress quickly after work.

And we often stay until the sun sets on our secluded little kingdom.

i miss your kids, they are the coolest. i like ethan's whip, very indiana jones. amazing sunset, that's the greatest to have something like that so close!

Hard to beat the beauty of the ocean.

i'm sure all the neighbors feel safer in their beds at night knowing ethan is patrolling the beach. has he thought of any names yet-a must for every super hero. i mean, he has to protect his identity. that would be a lot of stress for a two year old.
