Class Act Makes Good

Don't worry, this really isn't a post about football, even though it involves a football player...

While the Chargers season opener was a dissapointing loss there was one good story about a former Charger that is worth mentioning.



Michael Turner signed with the Chargers a number of years ago and while he could have been a starter on any NFL team he ended up playing second string to one of the greatest running backs of all time, LT. Instead of grumbling or attempting to draw media attention by stirring up controversy he made himself invaluable to the Chargers by become the ultimate team player. He became the best backup in the league. This year he was signed by the Atlanta Falcons because the Chargers couldn't afford to keep him. So, this weekend he got his first start as the primary RB and he capitalized, breaking out for 200+ yards.

In this league full of self centered superstars it is great when a class player like Turner becomes a star in his own right, without the braggadocio of some of his peers.
