Alan has spent the last two weekends slaving away on our front yard. A generous neighbor leant us a rototiller, and Alan spent most of two days getting through the front. Who has time for a real job when there are home projects to work on all the time? We're realizing that this is a big project, and that we've got a few factors working against us.

Factor one: Grubs. These little cuties like to eat roots and create brown patches throughout the lawn. That explains a lot.... Factor two: Gophers. I haven't actually seen one, but I've seen their handiwork throughout our front and back yards. Factor three: Hungry bunnies. The bunnies in my mind's eye are looking more and more like this:

Part of our frustration with the bunnies actually stems from our HOA, who insists that a small fence put up along our existing bar fencing (which has bars spaced perfectly for bunny entrance) is a bad idea. The alternatives they suggested were BB guns and fox pee. BB guns are preferable to nylon fencing? Soon we'll have land mines set up along the perimeter.

Mathis is cheering us on, longing for the day when he can gleefully crawl across pest free green grass....

Fox pee. Wow. We personally feel like HOAs are just one of the plauges of these the last days! Universally they end up making life more difficult!! Good luck!
BB Guns and Fox Pee? Seriously?! And where does one acquire Fox pee?
I'm envisioning Kristina sitting on a porch swing with a BB gun across her lap and a toothpick hanging out of her mouth.
