Evolution of a Superhero

I've been busy, ok?  Finalizing Halloween costumes (and having to finish them a full week early for tonight's Halloween party), school, and parents visiting. 

Tonight Amara wore her Halloween superhero costume for the first time.  She decided against becoming a superhero of her own making, and instead opted for a slightly modified Supergirl. Here are a few other costumes that she toyed with before settling ultimately on Supergirl.

Look at those muscles!  When she was getting dressed, Ethan saw told me that he changed his mind and wanted to be a superhero, too.  Uh-oh.  He changed it back again though when it came time to put his on.

Now for some random and only slightly related pictures that I found entertaining:

Last night at the close of the party Amara and Ethan decided to hold their own sack race.  Wow Ethan can really jump for a 2 (almost 3) year-old.  His bag kept getting lower and lower though.

Amara jumped down and back about 5 times.

Here's Ethan's costume. I had to do the back shot so you'd get to see the tank. He refused to wear swim shorts, opting for the sweats that look more like a wet suit. And he wasn't too keen on wearing his mask. He needed to have one, but it could stay in the bag all night, no problem. He has concluded, from our aquarium trips in the last year, that scuba divers dive primarily in large tanks, not in the ocean, silly!

Other notable costumes:
Amara went to a Star Wars party a couple weeks ago. Here's our little Jedi Knight. She refused to bring her light saber because its red. Only the dark side uses red!!


Check out the horse and reins that she added to that little stick. Awesome.
