Today is my dad's birthday!! We had a lot of fun, and fortunately I got lots of pictures...

Amara was busy this morning making preparations before my dad woke up.

Here's the card she made for my dad. Nice tie, eh? She used one of her own
crocs as a model while she drew this
croc on her paper insert (my mom's planning on taking my dad to pick out some sort of
crocs).

And here's a picture of her inside wearing her princess shirt and sparkly jeans. Here are some of the phrases she wrote:
Happy Birthday
Have fun
Go to the store
Veterinarian
Go No Boat
Go go go Sam
Love Amara

My dad decided he wanted to go miniature golfing. It was the first time for both kids. They both had a lot of fun and caught on pretty quick. Amara was a little impatient and did the typical chase your ball around and hit it before it stops rolling thing.

Ethan, after his initial hit, would always retrieve his ball, then put it back on the green about 2 inches from the hole and putt it in. Not a bad strategy really. It saved us a lot of time and potential frustration, and he still got in some good practice.

Amara
hurriedly crafted our birthday hats on the fly as we were waiting to eat cake tonight. Happy Birthday, Dad! I know you're going to love this picture!!!!

The look on his face...

is way too funny!!

The hat
crafter herself...

Do you think he was enjoying the cake? Angel food with chocolate pudding and whipped cream. Oh - and raspberries, too, though Ethan passed on those.

She didn't dig in with quite the same enthusiasm (meaning she didn't use her fingers to smash it all over her face), but she enjoyed it!!

What's this, you ask?? A tailless donkey. Can you guess what game we played tonight?

Here are the tiny tails.

And here she is in her party planning glory, coordinating the pin the tail on the donkey game. Good times.
