Copycats

I love how kids so eagerly emulate the adults in their lives. Its so interesting to watch the process as they master new skills. Amara's recent accomplishments include cooking at the stove (pancakes this morning). She's also become strong enough to open the refrigerator, which opens a whole new world to her! She's always trying to bring us snacks and pour her own milk (not that she's always successful). She loves to make toast. In fact the other morning we noticed two slices of toast inside the toaster. When did she do that? For some reason, this really cracked me up today. She normally keeps her little mini broom hanging on a nail next to my broom in the kitchen. Well today she noticed a nail high up on the wall in the dining room. She RAN into the kitchen full speed, grabbed her broom, pushed a chair over to the nail, and a new broom storage spot was created! So far Ethan hasn't made too many attempts to copy us. Though he does a lot of talking, so I guess that counts.
