This has become one of our regular activities. Tie the wagon to the back of the lawn mower, then drive up and down the street. Everyone takes a turn driving, and Amara and Ethan ride and giggle (notice the view to the left).
We picked grandmommy up one day and went to get ice cream, which was enjoyed by all!!
A nearby park. Amara really got going on this tire swing. Every time I see tire swings I remember going on a field trip in preschool and swinging on a tire swing so much I felt slightly nauseous all day.

We got out the slip and slide a couple days while we were there. This was a first for both kids. It took awhile for Amara to really be brave enough to push off and go for it. This day, we'd put the slide at a bit of an incline to get her going all the way to the end. She had a great time, but I think this picture captures her feelings most of the time. Fun and excitement with a strong dose of fear and uncertainty.
Ethan looks much more at ease, but that's because he wouldn't go on it if the water was on. He waited until we'd turned it off, then slowly shimmied down it and posed for a picture at the end.
We took a ferry one day to a neighboring town. The ferry is always a highlight. We ran around outside when we were warm enough, enjoying the view and the fresh air.
Can you tell it got a little windy??
Amara and Ethan went down in the backyard and sat by this pond, pointing out various fascinating items to each other.
And our delicious crab! We took a crab pot out one morning, full of raw chicken parts, and dropped it in the water for the day. That evening, Alan's dad retrieved it, full of 7 crabs! Only one of them met all the necessary requirements for size and gender, so we kept him and....
....ate him. Unfortunately the kids were already asleep by then and didn't get to see him at all (though Ethan may have been upset about the whole process).

Looks like some fun was had by all. Okay, tire swings make me sick to my stomache, just even looking at them. And I would like to know why Uncle Reed and Aunt Cathy didn't let me get in the wagon attached to the riding lawn mower and go up and down the street. I feel gypped!!
the picture of joe and ethan "having a moment of contemplation" reminds me of Calvin and Hobbes discussing the meaning of life before plummeting down a ravine in their wagon!
