The New Place

Quick update on our new place:
We bought this IKEA bed through Craig's list. Its a super low bunk bed. Here's Amara trying to peer over the top edge. Then the bottom mattress goes right on the floor.

Ethan used his trusty screwdriver to help with the assembly. His favorite destination these days is the hardware store so he can look at the tools.

And here's how Amara kept busy. She made barbie chairs out of Styrofoam.
We also went to the beach, of course. We bought these cheap kites at Target, but they've been awesome. They fly up so easily, and both kids love them. The only bad part was that Ethan let go of his. Twice. We'd flown them a few days earlier and he'd held on tight the whole time. On this day, I was trying to help Amara discreetly change into her swim shorts, when I look up and see Ethan running up the hill, chasing the kite which he'd let go of. I had to ditch Amara (luckily she had on undies and quickly put on her shorts herself) and catch Ethan, then the kite.
This one has Alan and both kids in it, so that's a bonus. Alan did some surfing, and Amara worked at keeping Ethan safe from the tide. Good times.  He looks a little menacing and sea monstery, doesn't he?
