Settling In

Well, we've been here at my parents' place for almost a week now. We're settling in and getting organized (sort of). Amara's been amusing herself with her usual artistic talents. Here are a couple of my favorites:
Love the button-ups!
She picked this flower off a bush, then attached it to her hair with a barrette.
We found some poster board and Amara went to town drawing this king and queen. Here she's posing in a way that she hopes will make it look like she's a part of the picture...
Here's Amara and Ethan coloring together, Ethan trying to be just like his big sis. These pictures are actually old ones we found from an old class project of mine. Hopefully coloring this Buddhist temple with pink and purple and adding heart stickers isn't sacrilegious.

Amara's been feeling a little melancholy about leaving home. We've spent a lot of time at grandma and grandpa's, so she's pretty comfortable, but the other night she told me that she wants to live in Nashville, and that she needs to make the backyard and her room look just like her yard and room in Nashville. I was trying to come up with ideas for how we could make it feel more like home to her, and she kept saying, "But how can we make it look like Nashville?" So many adjustments.
