July 4 in a Navy town

Note: Posting has been slowed by our lack of camera, we have a new one now so pictures should continue soon. I believe Kristina already posted the camera issues we had while we were in WA. Our camera was ruined when we went out kayaking and my parent's digital camera died a few days in so it took a while to get pictures from my uncle.

We had a great 4th in Washington. My parents new home happens to be near a Naval Air Station and Navy towns sure know how to do the 4th. There was a parade, with helicopter and plane fly overs and the whole street was full of people waving American flags.

The parade started with a pancake breakfast at the local fire station on the island.

Then the parade.

Most of the floats had candy to throw to the kids. Ethan ran wild picking up the candy. He also had a fun time with the flag...

...but he really loved the little dog that a woman next to had with her.

We ended the day with a BBQ at my parent's place. The weather was beautiful, making for a fabulous 4th.
