Jump, Jive and Wail

Ethan has recently developed a penchant for climbing on steps, chairs, Lego boxes, and this little doll bed (his favorite). The climbing is also accompanied by a "look ma - no hands" moment, followed by gleeful marches and even spins, when possible. This is a rather amusing spectacle, but also a bit nerve wracking. How easy would it be for him to catch a foot on the end of that bed and tumble down on his face mid-spin? So easy. Yet, the only way for me to stop it is through constant hovering, which isn't my favorite activity, for sure. Though I fully embraced hovering when he decided to stand sans hands in the rocking chair. And I was watching him pretty closely while he was doing this on Amara's bed... Until I looked away, only to be reminded of his dangerous position by his chin conking on my hip bone as he fell face first off the bed! Don't worry, he recovered quickly.
