Cute kids lately

Lately Amara has been really into surprising us with special treats from the kitchen. She likes to get us drinks, or snacks. This morning she set quite a precedent for herself - she brought me breakfast in bed. She came in to say good morning, then disappeared. I could hear her doing something in the kitchen, and it took her quite awhile. But then she came into my room, proudly offering a bowl of shredded wheat and a glass of orange juice. Kudos to you, little one.

Ethan has been practicing his chorister skills for a few weeks now in church. Today he seemed determined to prove his readiness to claim the title of chorister for himself. During the first hymn, Ethan did his usual arm waving, accompanied by his beautiful singing, and he also observed intently. By the second song, he had a plan. He reached forward and grabbed a hymnal. He sat, and after a difficult moment, he opened it, stood up, and balanced it in one arm. He then proceeded to wave the other arm and sing. I really think he could substitute up front quite proficiently.
