Stossel on School Vouchers
While Amara is not yet old enough to attend school she is fast approaching that age and the question of whether or not we should home school has been an ongoing conversation between Kristina and I. We often deplore our lack of options with respect to public schooling. A blog post from one of my B-School professors pointed to a 20/20 segment by John Stossel on school choice and anti-competitiveness in American schools. It is long (about 40 minutes), but well worth watching.
While human economic freedom has led to huge advances in just about every category the U.S. has lagged significantly with regard to scholastic achievement even while funding has shot up. My opinion is, like Stossel's, that a free market would go a long way to improving the situation.
BTW, Utah is voting on Referendum #1 tomorrow!
