Kitchen Crafty

Well, I've been sick the last couple days. Nothing terrible, but definitely dragging around a bit and not getting out much. Yesterday, Amara announced that she would take care of me, and she spent about 30 minutes crafting a peanut butter and honey roll up sandwich for me. (The peanut butter was a bit warm and therefore messy. As you can imagine, this resulted in lots of spills and licking of fingers, increasing the usual crafting time!) By the time she was finished, she didn't have the energy to make her own, so I ended up making hers!

Amara is really into all the kitchen stuff, and has been for awhile now. One of her other favorite things is cooking carrots for Ethan. She grabs a handful of baby carrots, throws them in a glass measuring cup with some water, and puts them in the microwave for a few minutes.

Really, anything that she can accomplish independently in the kitchen, she loves to do, and she's very interested in expanding her skills. Other interests include:
Scrambling eggs, cooking waffles, measuring out ingredients, making toast, cereal/breakfast in bed, getting drinks for others, assembling trays of goodies like grapes, crackers, etc. She also wants to wash dishes, but I so often do this after the kids are in bed that she doesn't get many opportunities.
