Let's Party

Yesterday we decided to have an unbirthday party. We really had no reason to have a party, but we went ahead anyways. Amara made invitations and delivered them to all family members. We made hats, and cupcakes.

We played pin the tail on the donkey, and even got a pinata. (Yes, we are geeks, but it was fun, so there!)

I can report that Amara happily whacked Spongebob with a bat, and showed no visible remorse about it. Does it seem a little strange to anyone else to hit your favorite cartoon character repeatedly with a bat until their insides fall out? Perhaps its better when the pinatas are brightly colored, unrealistic looking animals.

One of the pinata prizes was a clown nose. Ethan wouldn't keep it on for long, but he didn't seem especially distraught about it either.

What a fun memory for her!! Great idea.

Any more trips planned to Davis before you leave?

I don't think it's any weirder to wack your favorite cartoon with sticks than to have icons of them on your underwear, or your toilet seat cover. It always seemed very bizarre to me that kids choose to show devotion to fictional friends by covering their bums with them.

I certainly hope that Chelsa is not impuning my Hulk under-roos.

Kristina, that was a great idea! I just hope that you haven't set a bad precedent - there are a lot more unbirthdays than birthdays. I can't let my girls find out about this.

What a fun idea! You guys are so cute. That is funny to be whacking your favorite character. I especially thought that at Everetts birthday when we were wacking Curious George with a stick. I felt kind of bad. :)
