The Nemo Obsession
Could it be that taking Amara to see Finding Nemo when she was 3 months old somehow rewired her brain? She is completely obsessed, three years later. Here are a few ways that Nemo has influenced our life lately:-Amara really petitioned for Ethan's name to be Nemo. She told the midwives and the lady who came to do the birth certificate that we would be naming our baby Nemo.
-Amara has asked to shave off her hair, because fish don't have hair.
-Amara claims that we don't need a bathroom because fish just go in the ocean. Yikes.
-"The other fish" follows us everywhere. I'm not sure which fish she's referring to, but there it is again. We'll be having a birthday party for the other fish next week. Sometimes I suggest that human friends may be preferable, but perhaps not.
-Ironically, Bruce who was at first only an amusing character in the movie, has become frightening to her. During that part of the movie, she hides in the hallway.
-3 Nemo books, a Nemo pillow, which she sleeps with every night, a Nemo computer game, and of course Nemo fruitsnacks.
-Requests to watch the movie on a daily basis.
-Nicknames for the whole family. Amara=Marlin, Ethan=Nemo, Mom=Dory, Dad=well, his varies.
-Her favorite imaginary friend from Nemo-the anglerfish!
That's all I can come up with for now about my little Marlin.
Update: I can't believe I forgot this one. Anytime she see's writing, it says, "Two Fortaby Wallaby Way." (More commonly pronounced as 42 Wallaby Way - the address where Nemo was taken.)

That's too funny. I love kid obsessions. Everetts new obsession is Dora and Diego. Non-stop talk about them.
I love all the pictures you've posted. I can't believe how much Ethan has grown. He's so cute. Your vacation sounds really cool too.
oh I ahd no clue! that's so funny :)
at her age, I gave Winnie the Pooh names to my whole family. Oh, and Pinnocio names. they stuck a long time.
in our world, it's Dumbo every morning now. Grandpa stared that, then gave E a copy for home. all the time. It's really fueled a new train obsession.
That's Hilarious! I think it's pretty normal to obsess like this. Alan was on a Star Wars kick for years telling everyone his name was Luke Skywalker. When we first arrived in Davis, he came out of primary with a "Luke" nametag. Very funny!
AAHHH! The Disney scourge! My girls love Nemo, too, but it is the princesses that have them so obssessed.
So far, Max mostly likes watching me cook...but he does love the remote control...hm.
Also, Nemo does kind of rule.
